The Secrets of Nagano, a Long-lived Prefecture

I have finished reading the book Chojuken Nagano no Himitsu, The Secrets of Nagano, a Long-lived Prefecture. It was written by Dr. Takuji Shirasawa, a medical professor at Juntendo University Graduate School.

I now understand about Nagano Prefecture a lot more than before, especially how it has become the longest-lived prefecture in Japan.

I knew about Nagano because I used to live there. Between 14 and 16, I lived in Omachi city in Nagano. I went to Yasaka Junior high school in Yasaka village(it is part of Omachi city now) and I went to a high school in Omachi city. But it was a long time ago and I didn’t know anything about Nagano being a long-lived prefecture, (well it wasn’t when I was there) so I am glad that I read the book.

Now I want to go to Nagano. Maybe I’ll go there this autumn, especially to a village called Takayama Village.

I shared with you five keys to Nagano’s longevity, but there are more. Maybe there are over 10 keys but I will put them together as 7 keys in a video and share it with you later. Well, 10 is too many and 7 is a lucky number.
