In the last post, I talked about Shizenha people, who I think are the healthiest people in Japan. Since Japan has mostly been the country with the lowest mortality rate in the last decade, it makes Shizenha people be one of the healthiest people in the world.
It is good to model them because these Japanese young naturalists live in the present age, and everything they do is relevant to us. On the other hand, if we model centenarians, we are emulating their lifestyle 30 to 50 years ago when they were in their 50s or 70s. Life today is very different from that of the 1970s, we have different kinds of challenges. We don’t have the community to support us, we need to cultivate a new path ourselves. We can learn the mentality to do so from Shizenha people.
The Ikigai Diet is a diet and a lifestyle I composed based on Shizenha people’s lifestyle. I also modeled the lifestyle of centenarians in Japan’s long-lived areas such as Shiga and Nagano. I also studied the elements of Washoku, including the Zen Shojin diet and practices in the Japanese natural food movement.
In many ways, it is the most comprehensive Japanese longevity diet right now. Well, I can at least say nothing like this is introduced in English.
The extended version of the Ikigai Diet will be available soon.
