The Ikigai Diet and Ikigai Bio-Hacking
Last Tuesday, I had a session with Mr. Hirai, an acupuncturist and a bodyworker who comes to our house once every two months to give treatments to people in our town.
One thing he does every time is rolling my toes and fingers. He rolls and stretches them.
In the West, people focus on muscles, and exercises often mean muscle training, but in Japanese natural health, bones, joints, fingers, and toes are as important and we spend a long time adjusting them.
My wife is a bodyworker, too, and she gives silk touch sessions and bio steam sessions.
She says that toes are indicators of your condition. When she works with her clients who have some problems, usually their toes are not flexible.
So, in my regular workout, I always include toe exercises. I pull my toes, I roll them, and I open them by putting them apart. I try to make them as flexible as possible.
