Japanese Blue Zones’ Map

Japanese Blue Zones’ Map. In the last post, I said that Okinawa wasn’t the only Blue Zone in Japan, there were other longevity prefectures. Dr. Shoji Kondo who was a medical professor at Tohoku University traveled around Japan between 1935 to 1971, visiting over 990 villages and towns and he discovered many long-lived villages throughout the country. He drew a map of these long-lived villages. He marked them as blue spots, which is interesting, considering the fact that blue zones were discovered much later.

I made a video about the Kondo’s map.
