Bamboo Shoots are Satoyama’s Delight in Spring

It is time to enjoy Takenoko, bamboo shoots in the Japanese countryside now.  In the Ikigai Diet we value Shindofuji, which is a concept to eat local and seasonal foods and wild plants such as bamboo shoots are one of the best dishes to have since they are completely natural. They are even better than vegetables grown using natural farming.

Satoyama, an area near the mountains in the countryside, is rich in wild plants, and it is one of the benefits of living in Satoyama.

Nanohana is another wild plant we can savor in spring, and it gives me ikigai, too. I feel I am in tune with the source by absorbing natural energy.
