The Ikigai Diet and Bio-Hacking
On the spring equinox day, I visited the Tenkawa Shrine, which means the Milkyway shrine, again. I went there on December 30th to report that I was going to publish Ikigai Bio-Hacking. The shrine is one of the most famous power spots in Japan or I can almost say it is the most famous one. Whenever I hear about spiritual power spots in Japan, the Tenkawa Shrine is always included.
I wanted to go there because it represented the Japanese spirituality in the Kinki Region I mentioned in the book.
It is located just in the middle of three spots, Yoshino, Kumano, and Koyasan. These are three spiritual spots that are all related to Shugendo and Koyasan is the mecca of Shingon Mikkyo, Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, too.
The Tenkawa Shrine is located in Tenkawa Village where Mt. Omine, the mecca of Shugendo is located. Tenkawa means Heaven’s river and there is a river running beside the shrine called the Milkyway. There are three stones that are said to come from space within the shrine.
This is the river, and at the other side of the river, there is a rock that is believed to have come from space, too.
Now that the book is published, I wanted to come back here to report it.
I did the same thing at Mt. Hando the other day.
Then, I visited the foot of Mt. Omine, the mecca of Shugendo.
I didn’t climb the mountain since there was a lot of snow around the summit. I am going to come back when it is warmer. Yesterday, I just wanted to visit there and report about the book.
Finally, I visited Kinpusendera in Mt. Yoshino, another mecca of Shugendo. Actually, the entire area of Mt. Yosino to Mt. Omine is the mecca of Shugendo.
I am so happy that I was finally able to come to Mt. Yoshino and Mt. Omine to report about Ikigai Bio-Hacking.
