Going to an Onsen, a Hot Spring is One of My Ikigais

Since it was the last new moon before the winter solstice, I went to an onsen, a hot spring. It was good to do something fun and relaxing today.

It was by the mountain, and I could see trees from the outdoor bathtub. I didn’t expect to see many people here since it was a pretty remote area, but I was surprised to find nobody here. I was the only customer. Nothing to worry about catching the coronavirus.

I call onsen a Japanese sauna, and it has a tremendous wellness effect. I definitely think onsen is one of the secrets to Japanese longevity. It is my Ikigai, too, since it is hygge and healthy at the same time.
