It is a bamboo shoot eating season now, and we get a lot of bamboo shoots in Satoyama.
There are many ways to eat bamboo shoots; you can cook them with rice, you can have them with bonito flakes, or you can even eat them with cheese. I like bamboo shoots with cheese, actually.
I made pasta with bamboo shoots and cheese. We also had Warabi, eagle fern, another spring wild herb, so I put it there, too.
It was delicious.
