I told you that we were working toward introducing organic school lunch in our town. Well, finally the first step has begun. A chocolate muffin made of organic rice flour was served for school lunch yesterday as a trial attempt. It was the first time a dish using organic ingredients was served in Hino Town or even in Shiga Prefecture.
Although it was different from what we initially proposed, which was to serve organic rice on a regular basis, it was good to have something organic, better than nothing for a start.
Kids seemed to have like it anyway. In some ways, it was good that their introduction to organic food was something delicious.
