I got Life Science Nagaikisezaruwoenaijidai no Seimeikagakukogi from the library. I read it briefly at a bookstore, but haven’t read the whole book and I ordered it at the library. Thanks to me, our library is acquiring a great selection of cutting-edge science on health and longevity. This is the third book they purchased for me, and they are all current bestsellers. I don’t think many other libraries have this selection and the residence of our town can access it.
I think community health is crucial at the time of this pandemic. If there are more people who have a strong immune system in the community, we become more resilient as a community.
I told you that we value Sanpo-Yoshi in the Ikigai Diet, and community health is very much part of it. Sanpo-Yoshi means three-way-happiness; you are happy, people you have direct contact with are happy, and the wider society is happy. Whatever you do you can always take this three-way-happiness into consideration, and it will give you ikigai, a purpose in life.
Once you have worked on your health, you want to help others lead a healthy lifestyle. So, while doing my own research I might as well share that knowledge with the community.
What a bunch of crap! All I want to do is to save money, don’t I?-haha.
Anyway, I am excited to read the whole book. I will find out more about autophagy from a co-researcher of Dr. Yoshinori Ohsumi, the 2016 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine.
