I have been doing some endurance activities, such as 47 km Hinoichi Nordic walking or 150 km Biwaichi cycling. This is to commemorate my 60-year-old birthday, testing my fitness level to see if I am still capable of doing these intense activities, but are they good for longevity?
Yesterday, I cycled around Lake Biwa, the biggest lake in Japan.
Now that I have completed 47 kilometers Hinoichi Satoyama Nordic walking, I would like to try Biwaichi cycling as part of my 60-year-old birthday commemorating events. Biwaichi means cycling around lake Biwa, which is the biggest lake in Japan.
Two days after the 47 kilometers walk, I went to Osaka with my family and walked for nearly 14 kilometers.
I managed to do 42 kilometers Satoyama Nordic walking yesterday.
To commemorate my 60-year-old birthday, I am going to do 42 kilometers(26 miles) of Nordic walking around Hino Town next week. On Saturday, I did 20 kilometers (12 miles) Nordic walk to prepare for it.
On Saturday, I finally climbed Mt. Omine, the mecca of Shugendo.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom on the weekend and I went Nordic walking along the row of cherry blossom trees.
