I told you that I practiced intermittent fasting just during the week and rested on the weekend. It is to do with the Japanese concept of Hare and Ke in the Ikigai Diet.
We cycled along Omi-Hino-Merchant Street today because Hinamatsuri Kiko was taking place. On March 3rd we have a festival called Hinamatsuri in Japan.
Intermittent fasting was a common practice in Japan in the past.
It was Rishun in Japan yesterday, new year’s day in the lunar calendar, and the beginning of Spring. We had a special dinner to celebrate it.
It was Setsubun yesterday, and Setsubun is new year’s eve in the lunar calendar. We usually eat Ehomaki and scatter roasted soybeans in Japan.
Today, February 2nd, we have a festival called Setsubun because it is considered to be the new year’s eve for the natural kingdom. We will have Rishun tomorrow and it is new year’s day.
I think Ocha( having green tea with pickles) is a very good custom. It is so much better than having sweets in your break. Can you imagine how much sugar intake we can reduce if we switch to Ocha custom?
Kagami Biraki is an event of eating Kagami Mochi at the end of the New Year, and we usually do it on January 11th. Kagami Mochi is two-round piled up rice cakes, and we decorate them in our house during the new year holiday to welcome the god of new year.
