The Golden Week in Satoyama
This is a Blue Zone’s lifestyle. Working in Satoyama is our exercise.
It is fabulous going Satoyama cycling along rice paddies now that water is filled.
Rice paddies have water now, and people will plant rice next week or so. The end of April to the beginning of May is the rice planting season in Japan. It is a beautiful time to go walking or cycling and my regular morning Nordic walking gives me further pleasure.
Maybe I should go to a hot spring every weekend so that I can create a good balance sequence of stress and break. Alternating stress and break is a method recommended by Yu Suzuki, the author of Furo Choju Method, A Method of Immortality and Longevity, another best-selling book on the topic of longevity.
Autophagy is now considered to be the key to our health and longevity.
So, how do we activate autophagy?
There are several ways but today I will share with you the three most common ways.
I have completed the 9th week of my intermittent fasting, which means it has been two months since I started it. 3 or 4 weeks to go to reach the first three months.
It is Saturday and I have completed the seventh week of my intermittent fasting with Nordic walking and HIIT routine. This morning, I had breakfast and went Satoyama cycling with my son instead of my regular Nordic walking.
Recently, I have been doing earthing because I watched a YouTube video by a friend of mine, a Shiatsu practitioner who lives in New Zealand, and earthing was one of his morning routines.
I told you that there were seven things you can do on the spring equinox day, and you can still do them. The spring energy is still there and this awakening energy is the one you want to tune into. It isn’t over after the equinox, it will continue to get stronger as it gets warmer.
HIIT is much easier than working out at a gym.
